Sic Semper Tyrannis, According to the Media

It's incredible the lengths to which the Left will go to cover their behinds after their rhetoric caused a third, thankfully failed, assassination attempt against President Trump. When Cole Allen tried to storm the White House Correspondents' Dinner, he did so after penning a manifesto that sounds like every Democratic talking point from the last decade. Allen bought hook, line, and sinker the Left's lies that President Trump is a pedophile who threatened to kill kids, as Ted Lieu said. He also called President Trump a traitor.

That's exactly what Democrats have said about President Trump.

But now that someone used their own talking points as justification, they're suddenly pretending their incitements to violence weren't what caused it. This includes "Morning Joe" co-host Jonathan Lemire, who said calling President Trump for ten-plus years isn't really a call to violence.

"Conservatives want to police how we talk about Trump — while excusing how the president talks about everyone else," Lemire wrote.

Yeah, because I'll note that the number of red-hat MAGA-wearing assassins targeting Democrats remains at zero. Meanwhile, a Bernie bro tried to murder Republicans and almost killed Steve Scalise, and a Leftist with a furry/transgender boyfriend assassinated Charlie Kirk, and there have been three Leftists who have tried to assassinate President Trump.

So there's a difference here: President Trump attacks the Left and the media, knowing his supporters and normie Americans won't harm them. Democrats attack President Trump and Republicans precisely to get someone to act on the rhetoric. They say he's a tyrant. He's a threat to our freedoms. He's going to undermine our democracy and cancel our elections. He's literally Hitler. Those words are intentional and have a very specific purpose: they're meant to create a permission structure in which some Leftist radical will act to end President Trump's life, thus ending this so-called threat to democracy.

But it also seems Lemire forgot this 2022 "Morning Joe" panel where in he and his fellow panelists aggreed that calling someone a pedophile was — wait for it — an incitement to violence.

"If you're watching and you send around conspiracy theories like this that target other people, understand you're putting their life at risk. You should know that by now," Scarborough said. "You look at Pizzagate. The guy that showed up, ready to shoot the place up because he believed the lies about Hillary Clinton being a pedophile."

Ah. Cole Allen also believed the Democrats' lies that President Trump was a pedophile. There was not, and there never will be, proof of this because it's just not true. President Trump is not a pedophile, and the fact that I have to keep saying this is insane. But the Democrats have repeatedly called him a pedophile, and called Republicans "pedophile protectors."

The irony, of course, is that Democrats then go to the mattresses for illegal alien pedophiles and their American counterparts, pushing laws that decriminalize such behavior and giving offenders light sentences (if any). But that's a topic for another column.

If calling President Trump and Republicans tyrants isn't meant to remove them from office, why do it? Why continually make false claims of tyranny against a duly elected President and Congress if not to spur mentally unstable Democrats into action? Because they want action. They want President Trump removed from office, and not by a democratic vote. That much is painfully clear, even if they pretend that's not what they meant.
