I've long said that the media are not journalists or reporters. They're stenographers and propagandists for the DNC, and nothing more. That's why I don't shed a tear over all the layoffs, restructuring, and buyouts hitting the mainstream media these days. It's richly deserved and all self-inflicted.
One would think that watching the proverbial bloodbath taking place in the mainstream media would lead to at least a moment of introspection on the part of the Leftists who populate newsrooms. Unfortunately for them, they're incapable of such self-reflection. They genuinely believe that they're our moral and intellectual superiors, and therefore are above criticism and free from any flaws.
That's why when I read that a longtime CBS News producer was calling it quits after almost five decades in the industry, my response was, "Don't let the door hit you on the way out."

A veteran CBS News producer who is leaving the network after 46 years has suggested that political bias is at play at the network in a farewell memo sent to colleagues on Friday afternoon.
“We’ve been reading a lot of goodbyes lately and here I am headed out the door. It’s too soon, even after 46 years,” Mary Walsh wrote in the memo, which was obtained by the Guardian. “But maybe it’s for the best. We’ve been told to aim our reporting at a particular part of the political spectrum. Honestly, I don’t know how to do that.”
The memo comes a day after CBS News owner Paramount Skydance emerged as the likely victor in a takeover fight for Warner Bros Discovery, owner of CNN. CBS is now headed by Bari Weiss, a conservative commentator turned media entrepreneur, whose appointment was seen as a fillip to the Trump administration.

Oh, but Walsh does. So do the rest of her colleagues in the mainstream media. For decades, they've aimed their reporting at the 45 percent of Americans who vote Democrat, at the behest of and in alignment with the Democratic Party. It was so blatant and rampant that even Stevie Wonder could have spotted it.
Walsh isn't alone. Last month, CBS Evening News producer Alicia Hastey also jumped ship with a tone-deaf resignation letter where she said something similar to Walsh (emphasis added):
But, there has been a sweeping new vision prioritizing a break from traditional broadcast norms to embrace what has been described as “heterodox” journalism. The truth is that commitment to those people and the stories they have to tell is increasingly becoming impossible. Stories may instead be evaluated not just on their journalistic merit but on whether they conform to a shifting set of ideological expectations — a dynamic that pressures producers and reporters to self-censor or avoid challenging narratives that might trigger backlash or unfavorable headlines.
What Walsh and Hastey — and any journo who's quit in a snit-fit — cannot do is present fair and balanced reporting. They cannot fathom a nation where 45 percent of voters support Republicans, including President Trump, and Republican policies. They do not grasp that people live lives outside of D.C., Manhattan, and L.A. — lives that are fundamentally different, but no less important, than life in the big city. Those folks in "flyover country" don't even warrant a thought. That "shifting set of ideological expectations" is merely this: tell a fair and balanced story. Tell the truth, and let the viewers decide where their opinions fall.
CBS News knows it has a problem. Shortly after the New Year, CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil said the network was working to regain the trust of the audience.
"Sometimes, people want ot talk to me about our coverage of NAFTA or the Iraq War. Other times, it's all about Hillary Clinton's emails or Russiagate. Or more recently, COVID lockdowns, Hunter Biden's laptop, or the President's fitness for office," Dokoupil said in his announcement. "The point is, on too many stories, the press has missed the story. Because we've taken into account the perspective of advocates and not the average American. Or we put too much weight in the analysis of academics or elites, and not enough on you."
That's exactly the problem. The media forgot there's a large segment of the country that wants the facts, presented without bias, so they can make decisions for themselves. That's all we've ever asked for. Instead, we get a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party that has open disdain for at least half of America, a profession that lies — as it did with Joe Biden's clear cognitive decline — while pushing false narratives about Republicans.
When people like Mary Walsh and Alicia Hastey resign, nothing of value is lost. Instead, it gives us hope that maybe journalism can correct course. I won't hold my breath on that, of course, but each resignation of entrenched propagandists is a step in the right direction.
