The New York Times reports Caroline Kennedy has withdrawn her name from consideration for Hillary Clinton vacated Senate seat over concern for Teddy Kennedy's health.
Senator Kennedy was carried out of the Capitol on a stretcher yesterday at the inaugural luncheon because of a small seizure. He was diagnosed with brain cancer last summer.
The New York Post, on the other hand, says Caroline took herself out of the running because it was appearing increasingly less likely she would be appointed to the seat by Governor Paterson.
Neither paper published any on-the-record sources in their stories and based their stories on sources who would not reveal their names.
