The Porn Bailout

Porn king Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild Founder Joe Francis want a piece of the action in Washington.

"Piece of action" meaning piece of taxpayer wallets. And, they're cracking themselves up making the big ask judging from all the bad puns in their

press release.

The men, who've made their fortunes off the backs, er breasts, of young women willing to bare all, have written their California representatives to ask for $5 billion in federal assistance," "Just to see us through hard times," Francis said. "Congress seems willing to help shore up our nation's most important businesses, we feel we deserve the same consideration. In difficult economic times, Americans turn to entertainment for relief. More and more, the kind of entertainment they turn to is adult entertainment."

Apparently their DVD sales and rentals have decreased 22 percent over the past year. And, apparently they think Washington should care enough to cut them a check. Flynt described the recession as a "national cold shower." They claim it's also contributed to a "saltpeter" effect on their industry.

Hilariously, Francis said he'd be willing to drive to Washington in a hybrid car, like the newly-bailed GM automakers, if that meant he'd get the chance to make his case in DC.
