Reid Gives Burris Path to Senate

Roland Burris appears to be getting the green light from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, albeit with some requirements.

Democratic leadership basically said three things needed to happen before they would give the full Senate a floor vote on Burris's fate. First, the Illinois Supreme Court needs to rule whether or not the Illinois Secretary of State needs to sign-off on the appointment, Burris needs to publicly answer questions about his relationship with Blagojevich and the Senate Rules Committee needs to make a favorable recommendation.

Update: Does anyone besides me find it hypocritical that Reid is insisting Burris answer questions about his discussions with Blagojevich, while Reid has refused to answer any questions about the same thing? We know which people was ruling out for the appointment, but we still don't know who he was pushing...
