Calling the Top Republican in America

Jim DeMint was the first to call on his fellow Republicans to oust Ted Stevens from the GOP caucus and now John Ensign and Saxby Chambliss have signed on.

Chambliss and Ensign publicly supported DeMint's call in a press conference earlier today. Notice that? Chambliss is locked in the recount of the decade and he's taking a stand. And, so is Ensign, as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee!

Clearly, they both think this is GOOD for themselves and the party to do.

So, WHERE IS MITCH MCCONNELL, the top Republican in America? He's still saying nothing.

If Stevens goes, there's a good chance Sarah Palin could be his replacement.

In a soon-to-be aired interview on Larry King Live this evening she hinted she'd run for the seat if she's called.

King asked her if she would finish her term and she said, ” I will do what the people of Alaska want me to do. If they call an audible on me, and if they say they want me in another position, I’m going to do it.”

Hmmmm, let's see. Stevens or Palin? Stevens or Palin? I think I know who Townhall readers would rather have!!
