The First Big President-Elect Gaffe??

I'll let you decide if this was a gaffe, or a bad joke, or what.

President-elect Barack Obama was asked about the dog he might get for his children as a reward for the long campaign season in his first-ever press conference since winning the election.

My jaw dropped at his response.

After explaining the dog had to be hypo-allergenic because of his daughter Malia's allergies Obama said he'd like to adopt a rescue dog but that could be difficult because "a lot of shelter dogs are mutts like me."

Obama, of course, is half-black.
