McCain Calls JoeBama's 'Patriotic' Tax Hike 'Dumb'

John McCain seized on Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden's recent statements that raising taxes on those making more than $250,000 per year is "patriotic."

"Raising taxes in a tough economy is not patriotic, it's not a badge of honor," McCain said at campaign stop in Iowa today. "It's just plain dumb."

(I remember, Hillary Clinton said higher taxes were "patriotic" as well. Maybe Team Obama is stealing her talking points since she isn't using them anymore.)

Here's what Biden told ABC's Kate Snow earlier today:

BIDEN: We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people.

SNOW: "Anybody making over $250,000--?"

BIDEN: "Is going to pay more."

SNOW: "Is going to pay more."

BIDEN: "You got it. It's time to be patriotic, Kate. Time to jump in. Time to be part of the deal. Time to help get America out of the rut. And the way to do that is, they're still going to pay less taxes than they did under Reagan."
