McCain to Open Fundraisers to Press

John McCain will allow print reporters to cover his fundraisers, a highly unusual move for a presidential candidate.

Candidates typically close access to their money-making events to protect donor privacy.  Print reporters will get access because McCain says he wants the press to know he doesn't say things to his donors in private he wouldn't say in public. (Videographers and photographers won't be able to come in though.)

Sooner or later I expect the reporters covering the Obama campaign to start getting jealous of the access reporters covering the McCain campaign are getting to the candidate...
