Apologies

Last night on the "O'Reilly Factor" I made the really stupid mistake of pronouncing "corpsman" "corpse-man" while discussing Reverend Jeremiah Wright's previous military service.

I've gotten a flood of emails from Townhall readers to pointing out my flub. Some more polite than others, I must say. I've written several of you back individually, but figure the slip-up also warrants a public apology.

No disrespect was intended, I was simply recreating my notes for the show in my mind and mentally read "corpsman" outloud as it looks. I'm especially embarrassed for the mistake because my brother is a U.S. Marine.

I also misspoke when I referred to Wright's "Black Values System" as "Black Voter Values" like FRC's Values Voter Summit held each year.  I even tripped up Bill on that one.

Please accept my apologies and thanks for keeping me on my toes.
