Re: What McCain Must Say at CPAC

I've been hearing a lot of speculation that if McCain uses Ronald Reagan clips in his CPAC speech it could backfire badly. I wonder what our readers think about this. Is it a good or a bad idea for McCain to link himself to Reagan?

After all, McCain was a self-described "foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution."

I know everyone wants McCain to talk about what I call his "maverick issues," meaning immigration, campaign finance, etc., but there's a big fight on the Hill today to rein in earmarks-- something McCain and Reagan both have fought bitterly. I'm expecting McCain to mention this to try get some CPAC love.

By the way, I'll be on MSNBC to talk about all this sort of stuff at 10am and 12pm and then I'm scheduled for Fox's Studio B at in the 3pm hour. (Subject to change, of course, in the event of breaking weather or celebrity news.)

Update: People are curious what time McCain is speaking. The word is 3pm.
