Flashback Bill Clinton: 'We Won’t Tolerate Immigration By People Whose First Act Is To Break The Law'

As President Donald J. Trump continues to insist that America's immigration laws must be enforced, Democratic officials keep responding that the president is racist for wanting to deport illegal aliens. News of imminent deportation raids targeting more than 2,000 individuals with final court removal orders led to upheaval over the weekend.  Dozens protested. On Twitter, the far-left, and even supposedly moderate Democrats, gave out advice on how to avoid being deported. Many said there was nothing like this ever before in American history. Well, more than 20 years ago, President Bill Clinton had deportation raids of his own  -- and these were arguably done with an even tougher policy than Trump uses. In short, Slick Willy said, "whether they’re innocent or guilty of the crimes they were charged with in court, they’re still here illegally, and they should be sent out of the country."

As reported by the Los Angeles Times, President Clinton used one of his radio addresses in May of 1995 to tell the American people, “Our nation was built by immigrants...But we won’t tolerate immigration by people whose first act is to break the law as they enter our country.”

The president vowed to deport "100,000 illegal immigrants caught in a huge backlog of cases and to step up enforcement of immigration laws at the border and in the courts."

"Every day, illegal aliens show up in court who are charged. Some are guilty and surely some are innocent. Some go to jail and some don’t. But they’re all illegal aliens," Clinton continued. "And whether they’re innocent or guilty of the crimes they were charged with in court, they’re still here illegally, and they should be sent out of the country."

Consider that President Trump's deportation raids are targeting illegal aliens with final removal orders. This means that they have gone through the court system and the legal system determined they must be deported. But Clinton, almost point-blank, told the American people that, pardon my French,  he did not give a damn if you were guilty or innocent of the additional crimes you were accused of committing. If you were here illegally, that was enough reason to be removed from the country.

Fast forward to 2019, and Clinton's own wife is saying that "Weaponized fear and bigotry are the central projects of this administration" simply because the current president wants to remove illegal aliens.  So if Trump is a racist, what did that make Bill?

Well, Clinton, of course, was not driven by "fear and bigotry" but by wanting to defend America and prevent the country from "self-defeat."

"We are a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws,” Clinton said in 1995. “And it is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years.”

There is nothing racist about wanting to remove illegal aliens from the country. Democrats know this. But, if it can score political points against Trump, they will ignore history to try and make a point.
