Gardner Scoops Colorado Senate for GOP Win

Fox News has reported that Republican Rep. Cory Gardner has won the pivotal Colorado Senate race against incumbent Democrat Sen. Mark Udall.

A Quinnipiac University poll Monday showed Gardner leading Udall by a scant two percentage points. Colorado employed an all-mail-in voter system this year, where every registered voter automatically got a ballot in the mail. Republicans outpaced Democratic votes by more than 100,000, the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office reported Monday.

Democratic Mark Udall was accused of running a one-issue campaign on women’s reproductive rights, prompting the nickname Mark 'Uterus.' One NARAL attack ad even claimed that under Gardner’s leadership, condemns would sell out after he banned birth control.

As Gardner told Guy Benson: “These are the same people who, during the healthcare roll-out, tried to portray young people across the United States as interested in nothing more than doing keg stands.”

This turnout has proved, as Gardner believed, that Coloradans considered more than a single-issue when they checked their ballot.
