Unhinged: MSNBC Host Says Trump Is Doing More Damage To The Country Than The 9/11 Terror Attacks

On this day, we remember the 9/11 terror attacks. Nearly 3,000 of our citizens perished at the hands of radical Islamic terrorism. It jolted the U.S. into playing a key role in the war on terror, a war that is still being waged today. That was 17 years ago. It’s time to remember the victims. It’s a time to thank the heroes who risked their lives, and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, in order to save others. For some, however, it also served as an opportunity to bash President Trump. And to suggest that his presidency is doing more damage than the al-Qaeda ever could because…they don’t like him. That’s bush league. It’s unseemly. It’s totally unhinged. Oh, and that person is MSNBC host Joe Scarborough [emphasis mine]:

Cataclysmic events often bring with them violent and abrupt endings to settled ages and long-established norms. Those absorbing the impact of these historical aftershocks rarely grasp the epochal changes in real time.

Sixteen years of strategic missteps have been followed by the maniacal moves of a man who has savaged America’s vital alliances, provided comfort to hostile foreign powers, attacked our intelligence and military communities, and lent a sympathetic ear to neo-Nazis and white supremacists across the globe.

For those of us still believing that Islamic extremists hate America because of the freedoms we guarantee to all people, the gravest threat Trump poses to our national security is the damage done daily to America’s image. As the New York Times’s Roger Cohen wrote the month after Trump’s election, “America is an idea. Strip freedom, human rights, democracy and the rule of law from what the United States represents to the world and America itself is gutted.”

Osama bin Laden was killed by SEAL Team 6 before he accomplished that goal. Other tyrants who tried to do the same were consigned to the ash heap of history. The question for voters this fall is whether their country will move beyond this troubled chapter in history or whether they will continue supporting a politician who has done more damage to the dream of America than any foreign adversary ever could.

Scarborough was a Republican when he served in Congress, but now he’s an Independent, though he should have re-registered as a Democrat. I would have more respect for the anti-Trump wing of the GOP if they stayed in the party and fought their battles, however annoying they may be. Instead, they spew insanity, re-register as independents, and get prime spots on MSNBC and CNN, where they can wallow and be comforted by fellow colleagues who hate the president, saved from getting pushback for their half-baked diatribes against this administration. Scarborough is no exception. He’s pretty much saying that Trump is a terrorist and his election, which he won fair and square, has done more damage to the country than the 9/11 hijackers ever did. Did 3,000 people die on Election Day 2016, Joe? Were scores of families stricken with grief, shattered that their loved ones were taken at the hands of radical Islam? No. It was an election that Hillary Clinton lost. This isn’t an earth-shattering event in the sense that every election has a winner and a loser. It was one for the history books, with Trump pulling off possibly one of the greatest political upsets in modern history, certainly since Truman’s shock win over Thomas Dewey in 1948. Scarborough’s liberal colleagues also have another appalling narrative, which is that the Russian interference in our election was just like Pearl Harbor. It was just like the U.S.S. Arizona being sunk. It was akin to losing over 2,500 American sailors and crippling our Pacific Fleet. A few memes on Facebook is totally like that—said by no one. It’s not. It’s insanity, spewed by the Hillary Clinton loser sorority. Trump winning the election is not like the 9/11 terror attacks. Trump is not doing damage to the country. Only in MSNBC-CNN land could this be possible and logical conclusion among some of the most liberal, insulated, and insufferable media minds, which gather in their cesspool that is the Acela Corridor.

Joe Scarborough should be ashamed for writing this op-ed, which is total trash. And Roll Call, what are you doing posting this cartoon, which equates the 2016 election as something as tragic and devastating as the 9/11 terror attacks. The elite news media is the opposition. And this garbage, dare I say, makes an argument that they might be the enemy of the people, or at the very least reinforces why Trump bashes them so well and so often. They suck.

UPDATE: Sen. Angus King (I-ME) peddles Russian hackers=9/11 attacks narrative.
