Maxine Waters: Jason Chaffetz Might Have Ties To The Kremlin...Because He's Acting Strange Or Something

Katie wrote about how the House Oversight Committee found that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn might have broken the law by not disclosing payments he received from Russia on his background check forms. "I see no evidence or no data to support the notion that General Flynn complied with the law," Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) said. Chaffetz also caused a bit of stir when he said that he would not be seeking re-election, with many speculating he’s eyeing the governor’s office.

Yet, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) decided to go on MSNBC this week and throw a hand grenade into the mix by suggesting that Rep. Chaffetz may be involved in what’s happening with Russia because he’s acting strange, or something. For Waters, people are saying this, so it must be true, even though she admitted to not having a scintilla of evidence to back it up.

[Emphasis mine]

“There are those who think that he in some ways, have some connections to what is going on in the [sic] Ukraine and perhaps in Russia itself, and knows something about all of this. I don’t really know. I can’t say, but he’s strange in the way that he’s conducting himself,” she said. Waters added that Chaffetz revealing this development about Flynn might have been done to shield him from his connections to the Kremlin.

Host Chris Hayes tried to cut into the congresswoman’s lunacy, but only was able to say that he had not seen any evidence to suggest that Chaffetz has ties to the Kremlin, nor the nature of the Flynn announcement.

“No, we don’t,” replied Waters.

For starters, on the overall allegation of the Russia-Trump connections, there is no evidence to suggest that either. Senate Democrats have admitted there may be no solid evidence to suggest collusion between Russian intelligence and the Trump campaign. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Waters' colleague and ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, also said that there is no definitive proof of collusion. If there were, we definitely would have seen it by now.

For Waters, she really has embodied Trump Derangement Syndrome. She vows to fight every day for his impeachment, and says he has no business being president. Now, she’s peddling conspiracy theories and fake news in the hopes of keeping the Russia-Trump connections alive, bash Chaffetz, bash Republicans, bash Trump, and obviously make herself feel better in the process. This is just insanity and it will turn off voters, which is why I hope Waters becomes one of the identifying faces of the Democratic Party.
