Jim Carrey Inappropriately Escalates Election Eve Twitter Fight With Ted Cruz

Sen. Ted Cruz and liberal actor Jim Carrey traded barbs on Twitter Monday, just hours before voters in the state were set to vote on the race between the Texas Republican and his Democrat opponent Rep. Beto O’Rourke.

“Go Beto! Go Democrats! Vote like there’s no tomorrow,” the Hollywood celeb urged Texans on Monday. “Let’s make this Tuesday like the end of every great vampire movie. Pull back the curtains and let the sunshine turn all those bloodsuckers to dust.”

The actor tweeted the message along with one of his illustrations showing O’Rourke pulling back a window curtain on Cruz who’s shown trying to flee.

“Hollywood liberals all in for Beto,” Cruz responded. “But (self-described socialist) Jim Carrey made a mistake here: Vampires are dead, and everyone knows the dead vote Democrat....”

That wasn’t the end of the exchange, however. Later in the evening Carrey responded by bringing up some moments from the contentious relationship Trump and Cruz had during the 2016 campaign.

“Wow...sorry I rattled your chain, @TedCruz,” he replied. “I thought you would have more important things to do two days before an election — like sucking up to the guy who called your wife ugly and accused your dad of murder. But I get it! It’s hard to say no when Trump grabs ya by the p----!”

The Texas Senate race is leaning Republican, with Cruz up by 6.6 points, according to RealClearPolitics's average of polls.
