ICYMI: This Photo Is the Part of the Family Separation Crisis the Left Is Ignoring

Last month Customs and Border Patrol in Arizona posted a photo of a lone boy—6 years old—sitting along the side of a border road. He, of course, had been separated from his family because his uncle (the smuggler) left him there in the desert's sweltering heat.

Agents discovered the child west of Lukeville, Arizona and just north of the border, in temperatures over 100 degrees. The child told agents he was dropped off by his uncle and that Border Patrol would pick him up. He added that he was on his way to see his mother in the U.S.

As the CBP press release about the incident reminds the public, this is just another example highlighting the “dangers faced by migrants at the hands of smugglers.”

Children in particular are extremely vulnerable, not only to exploitation, but also to the elements in the environment.

Arizona’s desert is a merciless environment for those unprepared for its remote, harsh terrain and unpredictable weather.

This is the part of the illegal immigration problem the left isn’t talking about—being lax about enforcing our immigration laws, or policies that encourage more illegal immigration such as catch and release, only lead to situations like this where children are smuggled across the border to be reunited with their family members who are in the U.S. illegally. Sometimes they make it, other times, sadly, they don’t.
