Liberal Millennials Love Trump's Tax Plan...When They Think It's Bernie's

Liberals apparently love some elements of President Trump’s tax plan—that is, when they think it’s actually Sen. Bernie Sanders’s plan.

Campus Reform headed to George Washington University in Washington, D.C. to talk with students about tax issues. The interviewer started out asking students what they thought of Trump’s tax plan—without specifics. The responses ranged from “it’s not the most efficient, nor beneficial to the general populous” to “it’s better for the upper class than anyone else.”

Then Campus Reform decided to ask those same students about Sanders’s fictitious tax plan, which were actually parts of Trump's plan.

One student said of the plan to enhance the child tax credit, “I think that’s great,” while another said it’s a “positive, definitely.”

On eliminating the death tax, students expressed their support for the plan.

“I think that’s definitely something we should be doing,” one student commented. “I’m in favor of that,” said another.

Students also widely supported the idea to lower the small business tax rate to a maximum of 25 percent.

When the interviewer finally informed the students that Sanders actually has no tax plan, one seemed more surprised than the next.

“I’m shocked that I do agree with Trump on certain things,” one student replied.

In the end they all acknowledged their bias toward anything related to Trump.

"I definitely think there's an initial bias, I mean I've done it myself, I'll just hear the word 'Trump' and think, 'ugh.'"
