Piers Morgan: Media's 'Frenzied Attempt' to 'Delegitimize, Sabotage, and Destroy' Trump Is 'Un-American'

Piers Morgan, former host at CNN, told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that the American media’s “frenzied” attempt to take down Donald Trump before his presidency has really begun is “un-American.”

"There is an absolutely frenzied and concerted attempt to delegitimize, sabotage and destroy the Trump presidency before it’s even started," Morgan said. "I think that is un-American."

Morgan noted that it was the media that fueled his rise to begin with, never expecting him to win, and now they’re trying to get rid of him.

"They never imagined he might actually win. He was out there running around America, galvanizing and resonating with the American people in middle America. Way away from the two coasts. Then came the moment when the American media said we’ve got to kill this guy off. This is out of control. Rather like Dr. Frankenstein, it was too late. The beast they helped create cannot be killed off and he won the presidency.”

The obviously partisan coverage of Trump thus far borders on “abusive treatment,” he added, pointing out that the attempt to link the Trump administration’s alleged ties to Russia as being on par with Watergate are “wildly exaggerated.”

"The facts are, there is nothing right now to link Donald Trump to any collusion with anyone from Russia in relation to the American election. Nothing."
