Colbert Rips Acosta: 'We Get It You're Woke'

The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert went after CNN’s Jim Acosta Wednesday evening after his grandstanding during a press conference with President Trump in New York earlier that day.

Acosta caused a bit of a stir by asking President Trump whether “one of our female colleagues” could be called on after he was done with his questioning.

“Kind of a d**k move, Jim Acosta. We get it, you’re woke,” Colbert commented on the exchange Acosta had with Trump.

"What does he mean by that?" Trump asked, initiating a back-and-forth in which the president asked Acosta to “explain.”

Acosta said that “it would be great if a female reporter would ask you a question about this issue,” regarding sexual misconduct allegations that Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh is facing.

The president replied: “I wouldn’t mind that at all, no" and called on NBC’s Hallie Jackson.

Acosta has had an extremely tumultuous relationship with the Trump White House and has been dubbed “fake news” by the president.

Colbert jokingly employed that title for Acosta at the beginning of his joke.

President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Judge Kavanaugh is set to testify Thursday on Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations that he groped her and pinned her down while he was drunk at a party in high school. The witnesses she initially claimed were present have denied that such an event occurred.

Kavanaugh fully denies the allegations as well as last-minute sexual misconduct allegations from two other women.
