The Judicial Crisis Network has launched a $1.5 million campaign in defense of Judge Brett Kavanaugh after a Stanford professor accused him of attempted rape during a party in high school nearly 40 years ago.
The ad features a woman named Louisa Garr, who has been friends with Kavanaugh for 35 years.
"I've been friends with Brett Kavanaugh for 35 years. I've never thought about doing a TV commercial. I'm not involved in politics. I'm a teacher. I'm a coach," Garr says in the ad. "He is of the highest integrity as a person and I believe he would be a great Supreme Court Justice."Last week, 65 women who knew Kavanaugh in high school signed a signed a letter backing his character. Yesterday, two women who dated him in high school and college told Fox News Martha McCallum the allegations against him are outrageous and the "polar opposite" of their experience.
Further, 85 women who worked with him in the Bush White House and 18 of his female clerks have come out in his defense.
“This 11th-hour character assassination does not add up. We are not going to stand by and let Judge Kavanaugh be smeared. Countless women have attested to his exemplary personal and professional character throughout his life,” Judicial Crisis Network Chief Counsel Carrie Severino released in a statement.

The Senate Judiciary Committee has postponed Kavanaugh's confirmation vote until next week and will hold a hearing Monday. Kavanaugh's accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, will testify on Monday about her allegations. Judge Kavanaugh will also testify and maintains a full denial.
“This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes—to her or to anyone," Kavanaugh released in a statement Monday. "Because this never happened, I had no idea who was making this accusation until she identified herself yesterday.
"I am willing to talk to the Senate Judiciary Committee in any way the Committee deems appropriate to refute this false allegation, from 36 years ago, and defend my integrity,” he continued.
