Will Kavanaugh Withdraw His Nomination? President Trump Says That's "Ridiculous"

President Trump is standing behind Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in the wake of a nearly 40-year-old allegation of sexual misconduct.

"Judge Kavanaugh is one of the finest people that I have ever known," Trump said. "I'd like to see a complete process."

Trump slammed Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein for sitting on the allegation for months without properly informing her colleagues or asking Kavanaugh about it directly.

When asked by a pool reporter if Kavanaugh plans to withdraw his nomination, Trump moved onto a different reporter and lamented the question as "ridiculous."

Early Monday Kavanaugh issued a second full denial.

“This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes—to her or to anyone," Kavanaugh released in a statement Monday. "Because this never happened, I had no idea who was making this accusation until she identified herself yesterday."

"I am willing to talk to the Senate Judiciary Committee in any way the Committee deems appropriate to refute this false allegation, from 36 years ago, and defend my integrity,” he continued.
