Last week the New York Times published a story confirming an FBI informant was relaying information to the Bureau from the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election. According to former Trump campaign advisor Michael Caputo, there may have been more than one informant from multiple government agencies spying on the campaign.
"The FBI is not the only Obama agency that came at the campaign. I know because they came at me and I’m looking for clearance from my attorney to reveal this to the public," Caputo told Fox News' Laura Ingraham Monday night. "This is just the beginning. And I will tell you, when we finally find out the truth about this, Director Clapper and the rest of them are going to be wearing some orange suits.”
The revelations have again bolstered Republican calls for a second Special Counsel to look into politically motivated misconduct by the FBI, DOJ and overall Obama administration during the 2016 presidential election.

During a weekly press briefing on Capitol Hill Tuesday, House Speaker Paul Ryan said the allegations are serious and must be investigated.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has referred the issue to Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz for investigation.
"If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action," Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein released in a statement.
Meanwhile, Horowitz is expected to release the IG investigation into how the FBI handled the criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton within days.
