Earlier today a train carrying hundreds of Republican members of Congress and their families crashed when it hit a garbage truck that was sitting on the tracks. One worker was killed and two others were severely injured. Overall those on board suffered minor injuries and nothing life threatening.
In response to the accident, Bernie Sanders surrogate and CNN regular Jonathan Tasini celebrated and told his followers they should be thanking God for the incident. He also referred to Republicans as "stink."
After criticism, he deleted the tweet and issued an apology.
Apologies people. It was poked out in midst of convo w 2 colleagues on the deep racism/hypocrisy/criminality promoted by GOP or as GOPer Amanda Carpenter says, gaslighting of America . Deleting.

In a number of other tweets, Tasini refers to members of the National Rifle Association as terrorists.

In June 2017, a Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer attempted to murder Republican lawmakers while they practiced for the Congressional baseball game just outside of Washington D.C. The assailant, who was taken out by Capitol Police, nearly killed House Whip Steve Scalise. Scalise spent months in the hospital and had to undergo a number of surgeries.
