Trump Applauds Senate Vote to Proceed on Obamacare Debate

President Donald Trump is praising GOP Senators for voting to proceed on debate to repeal and replace Obamacare.

"I applaud the Senate for taking a giant step to end the Obamacare nightmare.  As this vote shows, inaction is not an option, and now the legislative process can move forward as intended to produce a bill that lowers costs and increases options for all Americans.  The Senate must now pass a bill and get it to my desk so we can finally end the Obamacare disaster once and for all," the President said Tuesday afternoon.

The President has been pressuring Republican lawmakers for weeks to get something done on Obamacare. Last week he hosted Senators at the White House in an effort to come up with a legislative agreement.

Monday at the White House, Trump made a statement on healthcare while flanked by Obamacare victims and gave Republicans a choice.

"The question for every Senator, Democrat and Republican, is whether they will side with ObamaCare's architects, which have been so destructive to our country, or with its forgotten victims," Trump said. "Now is the time for action."
