10 Things to Know About Christopher Wray, President Trump's Pick For FBI Director

Early Wednesday morning, President Trump announced he has chosen Christopher Wray as his nominee to replace James Comey as the director of the FBI.

Here are ten quick facts to know about Wray and his background: 

1. He served as assistant attorney general to Attorney General John Ashcroft under President George W. Bush from 2003-2005. 

2. He was unanimously confirmed by the Senate for the position of assistant attorney general in 2003.

3. As assistant attorney general, Wray was in charge of the DOJ Criminal Division.

4. He worked with James Comey at the Justice Department in 2004 and with former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who is now the Special Counsel appointed to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

5. He was in charge of the DOJ Enron task force.

6. Wray currently serves as a partner at the Washington D.C. and Atlanta based law firm King & Spalding. 

7. At his firm, Wray leads the Special Matters and Government Investigations Practice Group, representing "companies, audit and special committees, and individuals in a variety of white-collar criminal and regulatory enforcement matters, parallel civil litigation, and internal corporate investigations."

8. Wray was New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's attorney during "Bridgegate." 

9. According to his firm bio, Wray is ranked as one of the country's top white-collar crime and government investigations attorneys by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Who's Who and Legal 500.

10.  He is a graduate of Yale Law School.
