BREAKING: U.S. Military Bombs Pro-Assad Forces in Syria

The United States military has carried out an airstrike against pro-Assad forces in Syria. This is the second strike against the Assad regime since President Trump took office in January. The first came in response to a chemical weapons attack launched by President Assad against his own people in April, which left hundreds dead.

According to reports, the target of the strike were Assad soldiers. The first strike was against an airbase used by Assad forces and there were no casualties.

Syrian forces were reportedly told to leave an de-confliction zone and when they refused, proper response was issued. According to Fox News' Jennifer Griffin, the rules of engagement have been loosened and airstrike decisions have been sent back to the field. During the Obama administration, harsh rules of engagement required a numerous layers of approval through the chain of command.
