Hillary Clinton: We Should Have a 25 Percent National Tax on All Gun Sales

As we continue to focus on Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server to send and receive top secret, classified information, it's important to remain focused on the rest of her record as well.

Gun control will no doubt be a topic of debate as the 2016 presidential election inches closer and anti-Second Amendment Clinton has a lot of explaining to do.

American's For Tax Reform is out with a new piece reminding voters of testimony then First Lady Clinton gave back in 1993 when she called for a 25 percent tax on all gun sales. Although her statement was reported by mainstream outlets at the time, it hasn't been reported by any media outlet for more than 20 years.

From ATR

As she testified before the tax-writing Senate Finance Committee on Sept. 30, 1993, Hillary Clinton was asked by Sen. Bill Bradley (D-N.J.) if she supported the imposition of a new, 25 percent national sales tax on guns. Clinton emphatically endorsed the tax, stating: "I am all for that."

Can you imagine how the left would react if it was suggested a 25 percent tax be applied to voting?

ATR has launched a new website, HighTaxHillary.com, exposing Clinton's positions on increased taxes.

"Hillary's 25 percent gun tax would discourage gun ownership and be a backdoor route to gun registration," ATR President Grover Norquist said about the unearthed testimony. "Hillary has a long history of attacking gun owners."

Clinton has made gun control a key component of her 2016 presidential campaign and has vowed repeatedly at campaign events that she will "fight gun violence," aka support more gun control measures, inside the Oval Office.

"We've got to do something about gun violence in America, and I will take it on," Clinton said during a campaign event in Iowa last month.
