The U.S. Treasury department has removed some economic sanctions on Russia, according to USA Today.

The sanctions lifted were specifically regard licensing cyber-security sales which covers "all transactions and activities" involving the FSB that were prohibited by earlier executive orders.

Barack Obama had imposed sanctions called "Blocking the Property of Certain Persons Engaging in Significant Malicious Cyber-Enabled Activities" and "Taking Additional Steps to Address the national emergency with Respect to Significant Malicious Cyber-enabled Activities."

According to the original TASS report:

According to the license, "all transactions and activities" with participation of the Russian Federal Security Service, prohibited earlier by executive orders of the US President of April 1, 2015 and December 28, 2016, are authorized with certain exceptions.
