Scenes From LA Pride (#ResistMarch): Maxine Waters Advises People to "Stay Woke"

The annual LA Pride Parade has been replaced by #ResistMarch this year, ostensibly to resist oppression the Trump administration might attempt to impose upon the LGBT community.

Local Rep. Maxine Waters led the crowd in a creative chant, ending with a few words of advice:

Impeach for what, Maxine? Maybe her full remarks will make a little more sense.

Or maybe not.

"He is not my President. He is not your President...If he thinks he can mess with the LGBT community, he better look at what happened right here in West Hollywood. You deny, you disrespect, and you will find that there are people who have the courage to organize and to take back whatever needs to be taken back. We resist this president because he stands for the worst of everything...I know that you know you have the power! Stay woke!"

Waters' "whatever needs to be taken back" phrase demonstrates the mindset of the #Resist crowd - it's about taking something from someone that they feel entitled to. They feel entitled to the presidency - let's organize and march! They feel entitled to freebies or for law enforcement to look the other way when immigration laws are broken - organize and march!

Rep. Ted Lieu was also on hand to lend his wit and wisdom.

Apparently "having" to march instead of being at brunch on Sunday is a sacrifice the world needs to know about, a type of virtue signaling.

As this sign reminds us, hate is a choice.

Hate or intolerance against gays who voted for Trump, though, is okay, as one North Carolina group found out when their "Gays for Trump" float application for Charlotte's Pride March was rejected.

Nothing these politicians said (Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff also spoke) was geared solely at the LGBT community. Sure, they gave it lip service, but they really just co-opted a march for their own ends.

Planned Parenthood and illegal immigrant activists were also on hand. This is the state of political "activism" in 2017. There are no individual issues anymore. Throw a "protest," any protest, and the same people, making the same demands and accusations, funded by the same special interests, show up. In the word of a politician they can't stand - "Sad!"
