Will Jeb Bush Run in 2016?

Although it may seem far off, the election in 2016 really isn’t so far away. We will most likely know a lot of the candidates interested in the nomination by the latter half of this year. One name that has been thrown out a few times is that of Jeb Bush.

The former governor of Florida and the son and brother to former presidents was interviewed yesterday by a local Miami CBS affiliate. Jeb Bush said that he will make a decision on whether to run for president in 2016 at the “right time”, later this year. He stated,

“I don’t wake up each day saying, ‘Now what am I going [to] do today to make the decision?’ I’m deferring the decision to the right time, which is later this year.”

According to the former governor, it’s not so much about whether he can win, it’s about whether he can run and uplifting campaign.

“The decision will be based on, can I do it joyfully? Because I think we need candidates to lift our spirits, it’s a pretty pessimistic country right now,” Bush said. “And is it right for my family? So I don’t want to even think about that until the right time, and that’s later on.”

It seems that we are just going to have to wait and see what he decides. His name has been mentioned several times, but we all know his numbers are not looking very good right now. There seem to be several other Republicans ahead of him in the race for now. But we must also keep in mind that he could be a good candidate when talking about the Hispanic vote (which we should be worried about). Although he seems to be very casual about it and wants to run an uplifting campaign, we also must think realistically about who can win.

The question for now is: Is Jeb Bush the person that we want to run the country? And if he is, how can we get him elected?
