TIME Reporter Tweets About Using Drone to Kill Julian Assange

Another stupid moment from the liberal media. Yesterday a TIME magazine reporter started a twitter war over a nasty tweet concerning Julian Assange. Michael Grunwald, the reporter, suggested in his tweet that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange be killed in a drone strike.

Grunwald was then pressured into deleting the offending tweet when he received a huge amount of backlash from his followers. And of course TIME magazine then distanced themselves from Grunwald and the tweet saying that the post was from his personal twitter account and the statement was in no way a representation of TIME’s views.

Grunwald has written extensively about his support for the United States strategy of killing terrorists using unmanned military drones.

Writing on Twitter on Friday, Grunwald said he 'can't wait to write a defense of the drone strike that takes out' Assange, who is an Australian citizen.

Eventually, Mr. Grunwald apologized for the insensitive comment saying, “It was a dumb tweet. I’m sorry. I deserved the backlash (maybe not the anti-Semetic stuff but otherwise I asked for it.).

Whether or not you support drones or Julian Assange, this is a serious case of reporters using their platforms to say completely inappropriate and dangerous things. Drones have been used by the military to take out terrorists who are looking to harm Americans. Assange is not a terrorist and using the technology of a drone to kill him is completely out of the question.
