Fact Check: CNN 'Journalist' Chris Cuomo Dishonestly Trolls GOP Senator on COVID Relief

Let's begin by recalling why CNN anchor Chris Cuomo -- a partisan Democrat and younger brother to New York's scandal-plagued and self-aggrandizing Democratic governor -- has no standing to lecture anyone about Coronavirus. Months ago, Cuomo himself contracted the virus, making his diagnosis and recovery a central theme of his television show. In a made-for-TV moment, with cameras rolling, he emerged from his basement after he'd recovered and his quarantine was lifted. It was dishonest theater. Cuomo had violated his quarantine while actively infected and symptomatic, getting into an altercation with a cyclist in the Hamptons while out and about at one of his properties (not the one where he was supposed to be quarantining). After getting caught breaking the rules, Cuomo pretended like the incident had never happened, putting on his little performance for his audience, then brazenly lying about all of it when critics called him out.

This should render him totally ineligible to wag his finger at anyone else on this general subject matter, yet he's done so anyway, repeatedly. Here's one of his latest installments, sneering at Sen. Marco Rubio's daily tweet quoting Biblical passages:

"Real question." Sure, Chris. "ReTrumplicans" is a juvenile taunt akin to "Demoncraps," the sort of thing that is generally relegated to troll accounts with online handles like @BLUEWAVE069069 or @MAGAPATRIOT177613790. But this is a CNN "journalist;" someone the network insists is not an opinion host, but a newsman. His biases are undeniable to any remotely impartial observer, however, and his tweet above further cements this reality. Rubio, you see, has voted on multiple occasions in favor of COVID relief packages that were summarily filibustered and killed by Democrats -- i.e., Cuomo's party. The CNN host's tweet comes just days after Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi admitted that her obstinate opposition to a viable compromise bill was rooted in politics:

Sen. Bernie Sanders helpfully underscored this point on Cuomo's network, in an interview that aired the afternoon prior to Cuomo's DNC-esque attack on Rubio:

Pelosi rebuffed much more generous offers from the Trump administration, based entirely on electoral considerations. She's admitted it and now Bernie's upset about it. But sure, Chris, keep dunking on a Republican senator's Bible verses to blame him and his party for "sitting on" relief. I'll leave you with a few reminders that Rubio has been especially active on the PPP front, consistently and urgently calling for additional assistance to suffering businesses.
