"Inappropriate": How Half of Americans Describe Obama's National Prayer Breakfast Address

The president took some heat for likening the barbarism of the Islamic State to the “terrible deeds” committed by Christian crusaders and Jim Crow segregationists during his 2015 National Prayer Breakfast address. It was a speech that was reportedly supposed to be “provocative,” and if so, succeeded brilliantly. A new poll, however, indicates that the speech went a step beyond provocation; many Americans found it downright “inappropriate,” according to a freshly-released Economist/YouGov poll:
