VIDEO: Philosopher William Lane Craig Makes the Case For the Existence of God

This video might interest some readers. After all, is there anything more thought-provoking than debating whether or not God is real?

Every serious Christian, at some point in his or her life, has probably questioned the existence of an omniscient and omnipotent being -- one who created us and gave us all life. We live, as Dr. William Lane Craig recently put it during an appearance on Fox News, in an “increasingly secular” world where a growing number of people are downright hostile to organized religion in general, and Christianity in particular. Dr. Craig argues that the debate therefore must be waged not on easily winnable grounds -- i.e., advancing arguments that only Christians would accept -- but by providing empirical evidence and building the “cumulative case” for the existence of God and the divinity of Jesus of Nazareth. Below he proposes five such arguments that he believes support his contention that God is real, while also addressing a difficult and oft-asked question: If God is real, why does suffering exist?

Craig explains that life on planet earth is not meant to be “a bowl of cherries” -- that is, free from despair, hardship, disappointment, and suffering. True happiness, he posits, can only be fulfilled after we are reunited with God in the Kingdom of Heaven. Take a look:
