Today’s attack on Congress at the congressional baseball game was unfortunately not the only shooting to take place Wednesday. Three people are dead and two others are wounded after a shooter opened fire at a San Francisco UPS warehouse.

The gunman, who was dressed in a UPS uniform, shot and killed himself, according to San Francisco police. They have yet to determine a motive.

A UPS spokesman confirmed that the shooter was a UPS employee, according to Fox News. The company has also released the following statement about the tragedy.

UPS confirms there was a shooting incident involving six employees within the company’s facility in San Francisco earlier this morning.  Local law enforcement is conducting an investigation.  We cannot provide information as to the identity of persons involved at this time, pending the police investigation.  We understand that there are four deaths, although some individuals were transported to the hospital and we are unsure of their status at this time.

The company is saddened and deeply concerned about affected employees, family members and the community we share.   Our thoughts and prayers are with all those touched by this incident.  To assist our employees during this time, UPS has made professional counseling available.

Authorities have, however, been able to glean more information about this morning's incident at the congressional baseball practice. The shooter has been identified as 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson. On his social media pages, he was highly critical of President Trump and Republicans. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), who was shot in the hip, remains in critical condition following surgery. Four others were injured, including U.S. Capitol Police officers and congressional staffers.
