Fareed Zakaria: 'Romney Was Right'

Add this to the list of journalists offering their apologies in the post-2016 election era. Now that Russia has proved to be an aggressor, the media is admitting that maybe they were a little too hard on Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

In his foreign policy debate with President Barack Obama, Romney said that Russia was our "No. 1 geopolitical foe." Many reporters, including CNN's Fareed Zakaria, mocked him for what they termed an exaggeration.

The past few years have proved Romney may have been on to something. In 2014, Vladimir Putin's Russia invaded Ukraine. During the 2016 election, we've read numerous reports that Russia may have been behind the hacks into the DNC and RNC databases.

"We were wrong, Romney was right," Zakaria admitted on Sunday.

The CNN anchor offered an explanation as to how Russia has been able to be assert itself regardless of its weak economy.

Zakaria is not so kind when it comes to President-elect Donald Trump's foreign policy. He said Trump has a "backwards worldview" because he is being forceful with China instead of Russia.

Would he have been a fan of Romney for secretary of state?
