UPDATE II: Knife attacker was a student at OSU:

***Original Post***

Ohio State public safety officials held a press conference in Columbus, Ohio Monday afternoon to brief the press on the attack on their campus.

Shortly before 10 a.m. ET, a male suspect drove his car over a curb on the Ohio State University campus, exited the vehicle and used a “butcher knife to start cutting pedestrians,” according to an Ohio State official. The attacker, believed to be the sole suspect, was killed by police.

Eight victims are currently in the hospital. Two were brought in with stab wounds, two others were hit by the suspect's car while others have minor, soft tissue injuries.

OSU has cancelled classes for the day and plan to open again on Tuesday.

The OSU police said they "have to consider" the potential that it could be terrorism.
