John Kasich's Staff Lashes Out at RNC
The bad blood between Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) and the Republican National Committee has apparently carried over from the primaries. RNC Chair Reince Priebus hinted on Sunday that if Kasich continues to withhold support from GOP nominee Donald Trump, the governor would face some serious political consequences.

Kasich's top adviser John Weaver soon struck back at Priebus with the following message.

"Thankfully, there are still leaders in this country who put principles before politics," said John Weaver, Kasich's adviser, adding, "The idea of a greater purpose beyond oneself may be alien to political party bosses like Reince Priebus, but it is at the center of everything Governor Kasich does."

Kasich, like the other former Republican presidential candidates, signed a loyalty pledge during the heat of the campaign to promise to support whoever won the nomination. Yet, the Ohio governor soon made it clear he was in no way going to boost Trump's campaign once the businessman officially came out on top.

Instead of supporting Trump, Weaver said his boss is actually trying to minimize the damage done by the GOP nominee's candidacy. Kasich is traveling the country to support down-ballot Republicans, Weaver said, to help prevent a "national wipeout" for which Priebus is to blame.

This kind of public feud is the last thing the GOP nominee needs with less than two months to the election.
