Rubio Gives Trump His Loudest Praise Yet at RNC

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) didn't appear in person at this week's 2016 Republican National Convention, but he offered some remarks via satellite, providing a damning condemnation of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“She was a key figure in implementing Barack Obama’s shameful foreign policy record of appeasing our enemies and betraying our allies, and diminishing our role in the world," the senator said of Clinton's tenure as secretary of state. "She turned her back on the fallen heroes in Benghazi" and "then lied about it," he added.

Rubio then offered a strong contrast between him and GOP nominee Donald Trump. He noted, for instance, that the GOP nominee has proven he will cut taxes, rein in our national debt and appoint judges who will honor the Constitution. Rubio's rhetoric was a far cry from the tone he used in the Republican primary against his former presidential opponent.

"It's time to stop fighting each other," he acknowledged.

Meanwhile, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) got booed off stage for failing to endorse, and barely mention, the GOP nominee.
