Thousands Demand Massachusetts AG Arrest Bill Clinton For Violating Campaign Law

Former President Bill Clinton has been a constant presence beside his wife Hillary as she campaigns for the job he once held. Yet, he finds himself in tricky territory after seemingly violating a campaign law in Massachusetts. Thousands have signed a petition demanding the Massachusetts attorney general arrest the former president for campaigning too near a polling site on Super Tuesday.

A reporter for the local news outlet WCVB captured the controversial appearance.

Massachusetts law states that a campaign cannot campaign within 150 feet of a polling site. Yet, Bill failed to keep his distance, campaigning for his wife near a polling place at a building in Buttonwoood Park. His actions prompted this response from the Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin:

“The incidents prompted Galvin’s office to reach out to Hillary Clinton’s campaign and remind them of the rules barring solicitation of votes near polling places… Galvin said that his office was ‘annoyed’ that Clinton addressed hundreds of people during an ‘ad hoc’ rally near a polling place, after his wife’s campaign had already been contacted several times.”

Sharing the attorney general's frustration are the thousands of voters who signed a petition on Change.org to arrest and prosecute the former president with a “3rd degree Voter Violation Felony."

The Clintons, I say with a straight face, are no strangers to breaking laws. Hillary Clinton is currently in deep legal trouble for handling classified national security information on a private server during her tenure as secretary of state. The issue has caused her to suffer severely with voters who consider "honesty" the most important trait.

If Bill's campaign incident is anything like Hillary's current email fiasco, we should hold our breath for him to be held accountable.
