In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, let's take a gander at Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and his thoughts on filibuster reform:
November 2013: Merkley is completely fine with then-Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) inventing the "Reid Rule," and even thanked him for his leadership on the topic.
Thank you for your leadership RT @SenatorReid Thanks to all of you who encouraged me to consider filibuster reform. It had to be done.— Senator Jeff Merkley (@SenJeffMerkley) November 21, 2013
April 2017: Merkley goes full-blown emo kid when the judicial filibuster is abolished.
The dark deed is done. McConnell has just put a knife into the heart of our We the People republic.— Senator Jeff Merkley (@SenJeffMerkley) April 6, 2017
So which is it, Sen. Merkley? Leadership or the end of the world?
