Border Patrol Agents Apprehend 7 Illegal Aliens, Carry Out Injured Man

On Saturday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents encountered seven illegal aliens in the Jacumba Mountain Wilderness area south of Ocotillo, California. The individuals absconded from agents but were eventually apprehended. One individual, dehydrated and suffering from a heat-related illness, was carried out by CBP agents.

Agents provided the man with water while waiting for medical assistance. An EMT arrived on scene and began treating the individual. Due to the mountainous terrain, the injured man had to be carried out by CBP agents. The agents safely secured the man to a rescue basket and carried the 150-pound individual to Interstate 8 where he was received by awaiting emergency responders.

"Carrying a man out of this dangerous terrain and in this fearsome heat is no easy task," Chief Patrol Agent Gregory K. Bovino said in a statement. "Our agents are having to routinely put their own safety at risk to save the lives of those who do not take the dangers of crossing illegally into the United States seriously."

After receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital, the man was processed for illegal entry into the country and repatriated to his country of origin. The other six individuals were expelled under Title 42 Authority after completing an immigration and criminal history screening.

On Friday morning, CBP agents saved the lives of four illegal aliens who called 911 after crossing the border into California and becoming lost in the Jacumba Moutain Wilderness. The four men were given water, medical screenings and processed for illegal entry.
