BREAKING: Police In El Paso Respond To Active Shooter; UPDATE: Multiple Suspects Taken Into Custody

UPDATE (7:48 p.m. EST):

The death toll is now up to 20 and 26 have been wounded, El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen told CNN.

"20 innocent people from El Paso have lost their lives and more than two dozen more are injured," Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said. "We as a state unite in support of the victims and their family members. We want to do all we can to assist them

UPDATE (6:26 p.m. EST):

El Paso police are asking people to donate blood.

CNN is reporting that blood donation locations are experiencing 2+ hour waits.

At least 19 are reportedly dead and 40 are injured.

UPDATE (4:49 p.m. EST):

At least 22 people have been injured during the shooting. Eleven people were taken to two nearby hospitals, CNN reported.

Military member Glen Oakley recounted his experience and utilizing his firearm to try and protect as many children as possible.

Multiple suspects have been taken into custody.

Presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke, who formerly represented the El Paso area in Congress, was choked up during a speech in Las Vegas:

El Paso Police say the scene is still active and there's a possibility of multiple shooters.

Police are responding to an active shooter at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas.

At least three businesses –  Landry's Seafood house, Hooters and Red Lobster – in the area are on lockdown, CNN reported.

According to KTSM-TV, at least 18 people have been shot, although the extent of their injuries are not yet known.

The FBI is on the way to the scene, CBS News reported. The ATF is also heading to the area.
