Bette Midler's Attack On Trump's Supreme Court Is Utterly False

One of the worst aspects of social media is the number of opinions we see from washed up celebrities, especially when they don't know how to back away from their phones and computers long enough to come up with a coherent thought. Bette Midler recently attacked a black man for being pro-Trump. And now, Midler is blaming Trump for "packing" the Supreme Court with conservatives because the high court ruled the president can divert $2.5 from military spending to the highly-anticipated border wall along the southern border.

Where was Midler when Trump's appointments took place? He's only nominated two of the nine justices: Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

The decision was 5-4, meaning three other justices whom Trump did not nominate agreed with Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.

Not only that, but Trump didn't call for court packing. Multiple 2020 Democratic candidates – former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (TX), South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Sens. Elizabeth Warren (MA) Kamala Harris (CA) and Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) did.

Court packing was something former President Franklink Delano Roosevelt did while president. And, to make matters even better, leftist Justice Ruth Bader Gingsburg thinks the court's nine justices are sufficient.

"I think that was a bad idea when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt tried to pack the court," Ginsburg said during an interview with NPR. "You mentioned before the court appearing partisan. Well, if anything would make the court appear partisan it would be that. One side saying when we're in power we're going to enlarge the number of judges so we want to have more people who vote the way we want them to. So I am not at all in favor of that solution to what I see a temporary situation."

Maybe Midler should do a little research before she goes off on another Twitter spree against President Trump. All she's continually doing is putting her foot in her mouth.
