Former Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-NY) is finishing up the end of his 21-month sentence for illicit contact with a 15-year-old girl. Weiner has been labeled a Level 1 offender, meaning he's unlikely to reoffend. A judge ordered him to register as a sex offender for a minimum of 20 years, the Associated Press reported.
The sex offender registration process requires him to verify his address every year. If he moves, he has to notify the state of his new address within 10 days of moving. Weiner also has to visit a police station every three years to have a new picture taken.
Although Weiner will be a registered sex offender, he won't show up in New York's online data base. The reason? His Level 1 low-level designation means he will only show up when a person calls the toll free number.
According to CNN, level three sex offenders – the highest designation – authorities are required to provide the public with the person's address and he or she is required to register as a sex offender for life.
Back in 2017 Weiner pleaded guilty to sending lewd pictures to a 15-year-old. He had a similar incident occur back in 2011, when he accidentally tweeted inappropriate pictures of his crotch. The pictures were meant for a college student. At that time he resigned from Congress.

He tried to revive his political career in 2013 when he ran for New York City mayor. His race ended when, once again, it was revealed that he was having lewd conversations with various women.
Weiner is scheduled to be released on May 14th. He faces three years of court-ordered supervision.
The former Congressman did not appear at Friday's hearing.
