Six Univision staff members are detained at Nicolás Maduro's presidential palace in Caracas, Venezuela. One of the six includes veteran journalist Jorge Ramirez.
According to Univision spokesman Jose Zamora, Ramos and his team traveled to Caracas to interview Maduro.
Maduro's team has been scheduling interviews with American journalists. Ramos was supposed to interview Maduro at 2p.m. but it kept getting pushed back until finally, at 7p.m., they began to film.
According to CNN, the Venezuelan president told ABC's Tom Llamas that the U.S. government is "trying to fabricate a crisis to justify political escalation and a military intervention in Venezuela to bring a war to South America" because the Trump administration is backing opposition leader Juan Guaido.
The Univision network, the largest Spanish-speaking network in America, took to Twitter to call attention to the situation.

Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Kimberly Breier also tweeted calling for Maduro to release the journalists.
