Justice Clarence Thomas Hurls His Gavel At Liberals, Compares Them To The Klan

Justice Clarence Thomas remains a controversial figure. H was confirmed with one of the slimmest margins in history, whose confirmation battle devolved into a nasty fight when Anita Hill lobbed sexual misconduct allegations at him. Justice Brett Kavanaugh would face the same dirty Democratic tricks. The GOP blessedly held firm for this eminently qualified man who was the subject to the nastiest character assassination attempt since Thomas. Kavanaugh’s confirmation was extra sweet in that Republicans had long last avenged the failed nomination of Robert Bork. And in today’s politics, no matter what the Democrats say, your default position should be to be against it. They’re stupid, lazy, and corrupt—just like their allies in the media. If you can’t beat them, then weaponize sexual assault allegations. It was tough, but the GOP held firm and confirmed both of these excellent jurists to the bench. It’s supreme revenge. And both men will likely remain angry over their treatment before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Justice Thomas is still furious at Joe Biden, who was the committee chair at the time, and the overall “modern-day liberal.” Thomas compared them to Ku Klux Klansmen (via ABC News):

Justice Clarence Thomas is joining public criticism of Joe Biden whose handling of Thomas' 1991 Supreme Court confirmation hearings when he was a senator has been a flash point in the former vice president's 2020 presidential campaign.

In a forthcoming documentary, "Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words," Thomas lashes out at Democrats and Biden, who chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee and oversaw his confirmation process.

"I felt as though in my life I had been looking at the wrong people as the people who would be problematic toward me. We were told that, 'Oh, it's gonna be the bigot in the pickup truck; it's gonna be the Klansmen; it's gonna be the rural sheriff,'" Thomas says in the film.

"But it turned out that through all of that, ultimately the biggest impediment was the modern day liberal," he said of the experience. "They were the ones who would discount all those things because they have one issue or because they have the power to caricature you."

"Do I have like stupid written on the back of my shirt? I mean come on. We know what this is all about," Thomas says in the film. "People should just tell the truth: 'This is the wrong black guy; he has to be destroyed.' Just say it. Then now we're at least honest with each other.

"The idea was to get rid of me," he says. "And then after I was there, it was to undermine me."

If you’re a person of color, you must be liberal. You must be a Democrat. You must be woke. I don’t like being put into boxes. It’s one of the many reasons why I’m proud not to be a liberal Democrat. If you stray on just one thing, you’re persona non grata. There are things that I disagree with the larger conservative movement on social issues. I’m not religious at all, and yet—I’m not cast out with like a leper. I still respect religious people and institutions and I see their charitable work doing more for the urban poor than any federal program could ever achieve. Again, I’m not put on a kill list.

Ben Carson, Nikki Haley, and other Republicans who are persons of color receive hell from a horde of supposedly liberal, open-minded white dudes for not acting how they should be based on their racial backgrounds. Yes, nothing says white liberal than race-splaining how black, Asian, or Latino conservatives should behave. These folks can burn in hell. And it seems Thomas, even as he’s aged; still, have a fit of burning anger towards those who tried to destroy him. Can you blame him?
