The Hallmark Channel has cut ties with one of its leading ladies, Lori Loughlin, in the wake of last week's shocking college admissions cheating scandal.
“We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations,” the network said in a statement. “We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin, including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production.”
It sounds like it's bad news for Loughlin's Hallmark colleagues too. According to the network, they are "evaluating all creative options" related to When Calls the Heart, another series on which Loughlin had a recurring role.
Loughlin was one of dozens of individuals to have recently been caught bribing school administrators to get her children a leg up over their peers. The actress and her designer husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly paid $500,000 to get their daughters into USC. In their scam, they tried to get their daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team - despite the fact that they did not row.

Hallmark was not the only company to punish the star. Her most well known character, Aunt Becky, has been written off season five of "Fuller House." The Netflix show is the reprisal of the 1990s hit "Full House," featuring most of the same cast. When the college scandal broke last week, fans of the show dug up a relevant episode called "Be True to Your Preschool," in which Becky's husband, Uncle Jesse, tries to embellish their twin boys' application to a prestigious elementary school.
Felicity Huffman was another celebrity charged in the bribery scandal. Records show that she shelled out $15,000 to get her daughter special treatment for exams. Both actresses were recently released on bail.
