Senator Elizabeth Warren, the Democrat from Massachusetts, demeaned President Trump’s pick to be Secretary of Defense.

She dismissed Pete Hegseth as just a weekend talk show host and said he wasn’t qualified to lead the Pentagon.

“A Fox & Friends weekend co-host is not qualified to be the Secretary of Defense,” Warren wrote on X. “All three of my brothers served in uniform. I respect every one of our servicemembers. Donald Trump’s pick will make us less safe and must be rejected.”

Whoopi Goldberg, one of the gals on ABC's “The View” said that Hegseth "clearly does not know anything about the military."

So, let’s dissect the Left's argument, but full disclosure—Pete is a friend of mine.

It’s true that Hegseth is the longtime co-host of the weekend edition of “Fox & Friends.” It’s the No. 1 morning show on cable television.

But that’s not why President-elect Trump picked him.

He’s a combat veteran who served as an infantry officer in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay. When he returned to the United States, he headed up an effort to help veterans through Concerned Veterans for America.

Pete is also an Ivy League grad with degrees from Princeton and Harvard. Not to mention he wrote a New York Times bestseller.

Married. The father of seven. Not a bad resume for a 44-year-old.

So, why are the ladies on “The View” and the folks at MSNBC and CNN foaming at the mouth?

Well, it turns out that Hegseth believes the military should be about blowing things up and killing the enemy – not staging drag shows on nuclear submarines and offering safe spaces for pronoun-confused soldiers.

Hegseth is also a firm believer that women should not be serving in combat roles. And you can expect Hegseth to declare war on woke generals.

“Well, first of all, you got to fire, you know, you got to fire the chairman of the Joint Chiefs,” he said on the “Shawn Ryan Show” podcast just last week. “Any general that was involved, general, admiral, whatever that was involved in any of the DEI woke s***, it’s got to go."

In his book, "War on Warriors," Hegseth warned readers about the Pentagon's left-wing ideology.

“It’s one thing when a corporation or university goes woke. It’s an entirely different thing for the United States military to go woke," he wrote.

And you can count his bosses at Fox News Channel as among his best fans.

“Pete Hegseth has been an exceptional host on Fox & Friends and Fox Nation and a best-selling author for Fox News Books for nearly a decade," the network wrote in a statement to Entertainment Tonight.

"His insights and analysis especially about the military resonated deeply with our viewers and made the program the major success that it is today. We are extremely proud of his work at Fox News Media and wish him the best of luck in Washington."

I’d be curious to know what makes Senator Warren – who has no military experience – think she has more expertise than a combat veteran who was awarded two Bronze Stars. It seems to me Pocahontas is way off the reservation on this one, folks.
